And the Country went wild!
Well some of them as I suspect that those people living in England who aren't following the World Cup (for Football), the Scots, the Welsh and those in Northern Ireland, like me don't care and probably object to the Nations television stations feeding us a constant diet of football morning, noon and night with analysis of Wayne Rooneys foot/ lay-off and the height of Peter Crouch with added comparisons to 1966 and all that.In my personal attempt to escape planet football last night I took to my handcycle for a light ride only to find that the 2-0 result followed me onto the streets of North London and up to Cheshunt and back as ‘hoons’ cheered the imaginatively titled chant of “ENG-ER-LAND� while leaning out of their cars and waiving the flag of St George and in some cases the Union flag, what a Faux-pas and possible insult to the rest of the United Kingdom.
I’ve had enough and shall be writing to my MP about all this Nationalistic bullshit.
