This weekend I have been mostly...
Getting ready for the next Handcycle race at the Eastway circuit.
The event was run by the British Human Power Club and was their last meeting there before Eastway is torn down to make way for the 2012 Olympic velodrome. The results have been published but I know Geoff Marshall completed 13 laps not 11 and I did 10.
It was a good day to race, not all that hot considering the temperatures in London have been hitting 25C. There was myself, Geoff Marshall and Marc Poolman taking part on Handcycles, so we get points towards the Handcycling UK Grand Prix rankings.
The Eastway track does not get any easier as my lap times showed. The fastest was my first lap which was 4.11.6, lap 2 - 4.25.7, L3 - 5.17.9, L4 - 5.00.1, L5 - 4.55.2, L6 - 5.01.8, L7 - 5.07.8, L8 - 5.11.1, L9 5.19.2, L10 - 5.42.6. Total time 50 mins, 53 secs .6
The evening was spent at Mum and Dads were we had our first barbie of the year. Alain and Christiane were over from Paris for Paul Rayners wedding and stayed at M&D's house. Much wine was consumed (mostly by Dad) and much Franglais was spoken (mostly by Dad after the red wine) and much fun was had by all.
