October 2005 - Slow Update.

Where has the time gone, one minute I was enjoying the summer and going out having fun and riding my bike at each opportunity. Next thing I know, it's enrolment time at the University and all the idiots come out of the woodwork to start up and I'm working nearly 10 hours a day for the better part of a month.

Well I've been riding my bike at the weekend when I can before the winter sets in the the days become stupidly shorter. I've had 2 races since August. There was the Hillingdon GP race on the 10th September were I came 2nd handbike and 5 overall. I had a good race felt fine and had enough in my arms to sprint uphill for the finish. The other race (more of a demo) was in conjunction with the Tour of Britain stage in Westminster on the 4th September, it was a great day out. I stayed to watch the main event and Mum & Dad come down to watch as well. It was a good feeling to be racing on some of the main streets around my home city. Anyway for plans in the future - There is a Handcyling traing weekend on the 22nd October at Stoke Mandeville which should be good prep for winter training. I haven't been to Stoke Mandeville since 1997 so that's some gap. The last race of the Grand Prix season is the St Neots Riverside Half Marathon in Cambridgeshire, which I'm planning to do, start the winter in a good way.
